About 9 years into my career as a traditional hairstylist, I found myself needing more of a creative outlet. One fateful day I got a call from a new client that had just moved to town from NY. She had come to work for the Robert E. Johnson Theatre at Murray State University. By the end of our appointment she was getting me connected with the costume designer. It all happened so fast. Before I knew it, I was doing all of the haircuts, color and creating head pieces and wigs for the show. I had no experience in theater, but she trusted my creativity and let me have full control of the designs. In the beginning, I had no idea I was on the path to transition my career. But, I was in love with theater, design and the community and kept pursuing. I have now have had a career in theater since 2012. I have been able to travel the country pursuing my creative dreams and meeting some of the most fascinating people from all over the world.
